Mike Geronsin has discovered that his true calling in life is enhancing people's lives through music. His career started at the age of 11 when his sister came home with a violin. She would come home to Mike practicing out of her songbook. He soon joined the school orchestra himself and became
the first chair violinist. This would only last a year. Soon Mike became
interested in guitar when his best friend started taking lessons, but
because he didn't have a guitar, he settled on playing drums on ice cream buckets.
His luck would change.
One day his brother came home with an electric guitar and amp that he had purchased from a friend. Luckily for Mike, his
brother didn't practice too often leaving him plenty of time to mess around
on it. Mike soon found himself practicing up to 8 hours a day. He was obsessed.
He was eventually able to buy his own guitar and he started taking lessons.
Before long, Mike was playing lead guitar in his rock band. All the members
were still only in Jr. High when they started playing shows at bars and clubs.
While most kids were going to bed early, Mike and his band were coming back
from concerts at 2am. His band ended up getting signed with a local school
but Mike soon lost interest. His drummer Christopher had just gotten into
recording music so the two of them shared in that endeavor. This would later
take them to music college and eventually Christopher had his own recording
studio. This is where Mike learned to produce music as well as record for
his solo projects. Mike would soon teach guitar at a local music store for over ten years. He stayed there for so long because he loved coming to work
each day. This is where he really honed in on his craft. After a decade of
teaching, Mike decided to start his own music school. This is how Pitchfever Music Academy was born.
Now Mike and his hired instructors teach six days a
week, all the while striving to make learning music an unforgettable experience
for everyone. Pitchfever also houses a live stage and a recording studio to
facilitate any and all phases of learning music. Mike's goals are to continue
to grow Pitchfever while making his teaching available to the world twenty four
hours a day through UltimateBlackBeltGuitar.com. As you can tell, Mike is also into martial arts. He started out with Tae Kwon Do at the age of 10 and
is now doing Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
